Friday & the weekend: Turning warmer, with a couple dry days
Quieter weather continues as we head into Friday and Saturday, with the risk for thunderstorms returning Sunday afternoon and evening as another front gets close to the area.
Temperatures Friday will remain a touch below normal for this point in the year — generally, expect lows in the mid-60s to yield to highs in the mid-80s under partly cloudy skies. Light winds from the north will help keep temperatures in check, and it overall should be a nice day by June standards.
We start to warm back into summer mode a bit more on Saturday. We start the day in the low 60s before highs head to near 90° under mostly sunny skies. Dewpoints will generally mix out to the mid-to-upper 50s in the afternoon, driving relative humidity down to comfortable levels (as comfortable as upper 80s to near 90° can be, anyway). Winds will be going a little more southerly, though, and that’ll start to bring some warmer and more humid air into the area for Sunday.
We start Sunday in the upper 60s before warming to the upper 80s in the afternoon. It’ll be noticeably more humid, and there will be a risk for scattered storms particularly later in the afternoon and into the evening as a cold front approaches the area from the west. The better rain chances arrive Monday, though — but let’s try not to think too much about Monday right now, shall we?
