The week ahead: Warmest week of 2025 thus far, with sea fog and a slight shower chance Friday

A mostly quiet week of weather lies ahead across the Tri-County area with high pressure aloft contributing to some of the warmest weather thus far in 2025.
First off, we could get off to a foggy start on Monday morning, with patches of dense fog possible. Lows in the mid-40s warm to the upper 60s once fog mixes out, leading to a very nice day with just a few clouds expected otherwise.
From there, we’re back in the 70s each day for the rest of the week into the weekend (barring a further-south-than-currently-expected frontal incursion on Saturday). Temperatures warm to the mid-70s Tuesday and Wednesday, with upper 70s expected Thursday ahead of the aforementioned front, which will increase cloud cover and potentially bring a few showers to the area on Friday. We look to stay in the 70s through the weekend, though if the front hangs around, shower chances could continue with it. Right now, things look dry.
The only major fly in the ointment will be the potential for fog each morning and the risk for sea fog coming ashore as warm southerly winds traverse over the much cooler shelf waters. (Charleston Harbor is, as of this writing, at about 50°.) Fog could become dense and thus hazardous to travel at times, so you’ll want to keep an ear out for any Dense Fog Advisories from the National Weather Service.
