Rest of the work week: Quiet weather continues for now

Quiet weather continues for the rest of the work week as one dry front slips through followed by another area of high pressure. Despite the frontal passage, winds out of the northwest will keep Wednesday a bit more on the warm side as highs head to the mid-70s after a start right around 50°. It’ll be a touch breezy, but nothing too horrendous (though we’ll need to mind relative humidities and any stronger gusts for possible enhanced fire danger).
Thursday will run a little cooler as high pressure slips more due north of us, sending the winds out of the northeast. It’ll still be another brilliant day, though, with lots of sunshine and temperatures only down a couple degrees off Wednesday. High pressure slips offshore Friday, sending winds back around from the south and southwest, which will help to warm us up. Temperatures Friday start in the low 50s, warming to the mid-to-upper 70s in the afternoon with a few more clouds (though still ample sunshine).
Looking ahead: Next storm chances Sunday and Monday

While we should get Saturday in rain-free, we’ll be looking ahead to Sunday and especially Monday for the risk for showers and thunderstorms to return to the area with an atmosphere that will once again have at least some of the severe weather ingredients in place. This is especially true of Monday, where the Storm Prediction Center has outlined the area in a 15% probability of severe storms. To be in the outlook seven days out is not something that happens too often, but is also not necessarily an indicator that it will be particularly bad, just that there’s enough confidence in some severe potential to outline it with this amount of lead time. We’ll see how things evolve — stay tuned to forecast updates as we get closer.
