Rest of the work week: One more day of storms, then the heat builds in

We have one more day of scattered storms in store as low pressure aloft opens up into a trough and interacts with the seabreeze in the afternoon. Once again, we get off to a very mild start with lows in the upper 60s expected. Temperatures will head to the mid-80s before scattered storms initiate along and ahead of the seabreeze. Some brief downpours will be possible, but not expecting a repeat of what we saw this past weekend, either.

From there, high pressure will build in at the surface and aloft, and this will help kick off the first stretch of 90s so far this year. Thursday will be a mostly sunny day with lows in the upper 60s once again yielding to highs around 90° in the afternoon. We turn even warmer on Friday despite a few more clouds; expect lows around 70° to warm to the mid-90s in the afternoon. 70s dewpoints will also help drive heat indices to near 100° as well, making for a very summer-like feel that continues into the weekend.
