The week ahead: Stormy start, but quieter for Halloween; staying cool throughout

The final week of October will feature cooler-than-normal temperatures as well as periods of unsettled weather as a couple storm systems affect the area ahead of what should be a quiet Halloween weekend.
After a week and change of rain-free weather, rain returns for Monday as a low pressure system develops and heads up the coast. The rain could turn heavy at times, and we could even hear some rumbles of thunder as some instability pushes inland a bit. Severe weather is not expected, though. Temperatures will be noticeably cooler with the rain and cloud cover; expect lows in the mid-50s to warm just to the mid-60s in the afternoon.
Low pressure departs overnight Monday into early Tuesday. Some lingering showers will be possible with the departing low, but shouldn’t be a whole day rainout. Mostly cloudy skies will persist, though some breaks in the cloud cover will be possible with a little drier air trying to work into the area later in the day. Northerly winds will keep temperatures on the cool side of normal, with highs only peaking in the low-to-mid-60s in the afternoon.
Another storm system will approach the area Wednesday into Thursday, keeping shower chances in play, but also with some breaks in the clouds. Lows will run a little cooler, but highs will run a little warmer with upper 60s generally expected Wednesday into Thursday. Conditions will improve as Thursday goes on with the second storm system departing. This will lead into a much more settled and seasonable Halloween, with lows in the mid-50s warming to the mid-60s in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. November will start feeling like, well, November, with lows in the mid-40s and highs in the mid-60s on Saturday and Sunday with plenty of sunshine.
