Friday & the weekend: A couple more warm days before a brief cooldown

/ November 20, 2025 at 6:25 PM

After a slightly cooler and more cloudy day courtesy of a backdoor cold front, temperatures will head back into the upper 70s on Friday as the aforementioned front washes out with high pressure moving offshore. We start the day in the mid-50s and perhaps with some fog. Cloud cover will gradually diminish as the day goes on, and we should have a pleasant close to the day as we head into the weekend.

We’ll have one more warm day on Saturday; expect lows to bottom out just below 60° across much of the area, warming to the upper 70s to near 80° in the afternoon under partly cloudy skies. The ridge aloft that has been a big contributor to the recent warm spell will start to flatten out as a trough approaches from the west. The trough will also help to drive a cold front through the area late Saturday into early Sunday, which will bring about a brief cooldown. Expect Sunday’s highs to peak in the upper 60s to around 70° — much more in line with mid-to-late November normals — with generally partly cloudy skies.

Looking for rain? This front will generally pass through the area with just an uptick in cloud cover, but a front that looks to get through next Wednesday may bring at least a few showers ahead of what should be a seasonable Thanksgiving Day.
