Warmer-than-normal weather continues into the weekend

/ April 25, 2019 at 8:09 AM

The warmest stretch of 2019 (thus far, anyway) continues today as high pressure slips a little further offshore. Highs in the upper 80s will be commonplace away from the immediate coast. If mid-week beach days are your thing, today definitely qualifies.

Next rain chance overnight tonight into Friday, then a great weekend

As some upper-level energy and a surface cold front approaches, we will see chances of showers increase overnight tonight and into Friday. Some of the high-res models even are on board with a few showers as early as 8-9 PM, but we’ll need to see how things evolve here. A band of showers and some embedded thunderstorms will then move through the area on Friday, looking to clear out by evening commute time. Don’t think it rains all day, but keep the gear around just in case.

After the cold front gets through Friday, we’re looking at a gorgeous weekend with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low-to-mid-80s. I suspect the beaches will be busy, especially Sunday as it will be a little bit warmer. Hope you can get out and enjoy!
