Memorial Day weekend: Mostly quiet, storms possible Monday afternoon

Memorial Day weekend in the Lowcountry looks quite seasonable — highs in the upper 80s, lows in the upper 60s, and partly cloudy skies for Saturday and Sunday as a front stalls offshore, but far enough offshore to keep us in some nicer weather. Indeed, we should stay mostly rain-free for the long weekend, though there will be a chance for a few isolated afternoon thunderstorms Monday as a little more moisture begins to work back into the area. All in all, though, things are looking pretty good to get outside.

Sunny start to Spoleto in the offing

After the thunderstorm risk moved the Opening Ceremonies indoors, we should have much better weather luck heading into Spoleto’s opening weekend. Skies will start partly cloudy and eventually turn mostly sunny each day this weekend as the seabreeze migrates inland. This will help keep temperatures in the mid-80s each afternoon, too. Temperatures will cool nicely into the mid-70s as we get to Cistern time in the evening, too, with a standard taste of late May humidity to come along with it. Overall, not too shabby — get out and enjoy!
