Thursday: Another warm, sunny day
One more predominantly sunny day is in store for Thursday as stacked high pressure remains in place across the Carolinas. We’ll start the day in the mid-50s, generally around normal for April 20, before warming into the mid-to-upper 80s in the afternoon, which is ten degrees above normal. Unfettered sunshine is expected once again, with very little, if any, in the way of cloud cover. It’ll be another great day to get outside for lunch or even a nice golden-hour dinner.
Friday & the weekend: One more quiet day, then some showers and a cold front
Friday will be another quite nice day across the area. A little more in the way of onshore flow and a little bit more in the way of cloud cover will hold high temperatures into the lower-to-mid-80s, a few degrees cooler than we reached on Wednesday and are forecast to reach Thursday.
Showers re-enter the weather picture on Saturday as a cold front approaches the area. Scattered showers will be possible for much of the day, but it won’t rain all day at any one spot. The best chance for showers and maybe a thunderstorm will arrive later in the evening as the front gets by. Highs top out in the low 80s for one more day before some near- to slightly below-normal temperatures arrive Sunday. We’ll clear out nicely during the day Sunday, and it should be a rather pleasant weather day with highs topping out in the upper 70s with comfortable humidity levels.
