Thursday: Another warm day with clouds increasing ahead of a front

After reaching 79° on Wednesday, some 13° above normal for this point in the year, we’re back in the mid-to-upper 70s on Thursday but with some increasing cloud cover ahead of an approaching cold front. Moisture ahead of the front won’t be the best, but a few showers will be possible later Thursday into the overnight as it gets by, so be aware for the potential for a little rain. It’ll also be a bit of a breezy day, with winds 15-20 MPH possible out of the southwest particularly in the afternoon.
Friday & the weekend: Springlike start, turning cooler for Sunday

Expect generally quiet weather this weekend in the wake of Thursday night’s front. Friday starts in the mid-to-upper 40s, with highs topping out in the upper 60s to around 70° with mostly sunny skies expected. This should make for a very nice day across the area as we close out the work week, the month of February, and climatological winter.
March gets off to a warm, springy start on Saturday as lows in the mid-40s warm to the mid-70s in the afternoon with lots of sunshine. The warmth will be somewhat short-lived, though, as a backdoor cold front swings through on Sunday, wedging high pressure in from the north briefly and sending highs back to around 60° in the afternoon, nearly 15° cooler than the previous day, despite mostly sunny skies.
Looking ahead: Next storm system for mid-week
We stay on the cool side Monday, but warm back into the 70s on Tuesday as winds go back around more to the south ahead of the next storm system, which should bring some decent rain chances — and potentially a thunderstorm threat — to the area on Wednesday.
