Tuesday: One more day of seasonable temperatures before warmth returns

/ November 17, 2025 at 6:59 PM

After a near-normal day of temperatures on Monday, we’ll look for a similar performance on Tuesday. Temperatures will start in the mid-40s across much of the area (a little warmer near the coast, a little cooler further inland), and highs will peak around 70° in the afternoon with mostly sunny skies remaining the rule. Winds will be going more southerly during the day as surface high pressure begins to shift offshore. This will set us up for a few days of rather warm temperatures starting Wednesday.

Rest of the work week: Temperatures heading well above normal while the forecast remains dry

Surface high pressure to our south and east combined with a ridge developing aloft will bring much warmer temperatures to the area beginning Wednesday and lasting through the end of the work week. Expect temperatures to peak in the upper 70s each afternoon, with 80° readings not out of the question especially Thursday and Friday. The mornings will be mild for this point in the year, too, with lows in the mid-50s on Wednesday ticking up to the upper 50s for Thursday, potentially scraping 60° on Friday.

The strong ridge aloft and high pressure to our south will generally keep any rain chances away from the area through Friday, though we will see an uptick in cloud cover as we get later into the week, too. The next rain chance arrives Saturday with an approaching cold front, but even then it looks relatively slight right now. Climatologically, November is our driest month of the year with an average rainfall of 2.66″, and we’re coming in well below climatology during the first half of the month with only 0.56″ recorded at the airport.
