Thursday: Back to the 80s

Our brief cooldown comes to an end to close out the work week, with sunshine and 80s returning to the Lowcountry on Thursday. The day starts in the low-to-mid-50s, so you might go for a light jacket to start, but you’ll be able to shed that by mid-morning as temperatures climb. Highs peaking around 80° run a few degrees above normal for late March. Winds are quiet to start the day but pick up a little as the seabreeze pushes inland later in the day.
Friday & the weekend: Another record high possible Friday, then cooling off for the Bridge Run

Warmth peaks on Friday ahead of a front that will impart a breezy chill in the air for the Bridge Run. We will get close to another record high on Friday, with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s approaching the record of 87° set in 2020 and tied in 2021. We’ll see a few clouds from time to time, but sunshine will be the dominant player Friday.
A backdoor cold front then moves through overnight Friday into Saturday, swinging winds around to the northeast and turning them a bit breezy just in time for the Bridge Run. Temperatures will bottom out in the mid-50s, warming to just the upper 60s in the afternoon. The morning will be mostly cloudy, but we should see some sunshine gradually filter in more prominently as the day goes on. Overall, a comfortable day for a 10K if that is your persuasion.
We stay cool on Sunday with plenty of sunshine continuing. Temperatures fall to the mid-40s Sunday morning, and we’ll warm just to the upper 60s once again in the afternoon, which is slightly below normal for this point in March. However, it should still be quite comfortable to get outside as that March sun angle will feel pretty good.
