A cold front will stall out to our north, keeping warm and muggy conditions in place with disturbances bringing about showers and thunderstorms each day, especially Saturday.

Friday looks similar to how Thursday went, with a scattering of showers and a few thunderstorms perhaps starting close to the coast in the morning before progressing a bit more inland as the day goes on. Temperatures start in the mid-70s, warming to the low 90s in the afternoon. (At this point in September, normal highs generally run in the mid-to-upper 80s.)

As the aforementioned front stalls out to our north and disturbances ripple in aloft, we’ll see better shower and thunderstorm chances, especially Saturday. Temperatures continue to run above normal, with lows in the mid-70s heading to the low 90s Saturday and Sunday. Sunday should run a couple ticks warmer as we get more of the day in rain-free, but showers and thunderstorms become likely again by evening with another disturbance moving by.

High pressure then begins to rebuild aloft starting Monday, which helps to bring the coverage of showers and thunderstorms down some. High pressure at the surface will nudge back into the area from the northeast, and this should bring about a touch cooler and drier air as well, sending highs closer to mid-September normals for the middle of next week, though it’ll still be too warm to call it “fall.”
