Brief rain Friday before a temperature rollercoaster this weekend
The bad news is that we’re going to see some rain on Friday (probably midday through mid-afternoon). The good news is that it will be short-lived, and that we will have a rain-free weekend for the first time since the first weekend of 2023!
Temperatures on Friday will peak in the low-to-mid-70s somewhat early in the day ahead of a cold front that’ll bring some showers to the area. Rain looks relatively short-lived, with most of it over and done with quite possibly before the evening commute except maybe at the immediate coast. Suffice to say, a washout is not anticipated by any stretch in case you did want to get outside a little at least on Friday morning. Keep rain gear handy for the afternoon for any outdoor SEWE events.
Saturday features a brief dip back into February behind the cold front. Lows will bottom out in the mid-to-upper 30s across the metro area, while highs only rise to about the mid-50s or so despite fully clear skies. This chill does not last; we’re back approaching 70° by Sunday with some clouds mixing in from time to time as high pressure quickly shifts offshore. We look to stay rain-free throughout the weekend well into much of, if not all of, next week — we certainly could use some time to dry out a bit, and it looks like we’re going to get it.
