Tuesday: Skies go clear, chilly start, comfortably warm finish

/ April 10, 2023 at 6:30 PM

Tuesday will be one of the better weather days we’ve had in a while around here, just an all-around gorgeous spring day. We’ll start the day in the mid-to-upper 40s and warm nicely into the low 70s in the afternoon under sunny skies. Dewpoints around 40° will yield a really comfortable day, too — not too dry, not too humid. Yes, it’s a workday, but with some of y’all on spring break, I hope you get to take advantage of this! Before you know it, we’ll be sweating buckets by merely stepping outdoors.

Rest of the work week: Turning warmer, a little more unsettled

We’ll turn warmer heading into Wednesday and Thursday as highs peak around 80° both days under mostly sunny skies. We’ll see a slight uptick in cloud cover on Thursday as low pressure gathers steam in the Gulf. By Friday, a scattering of showers and maybe a thunderstorm will overspread the area from south to north starting early in the day through the evening hours. Highs top out in the mid-70s after a much warmer start than previous days (low 60s). The risk for scattered showers (and a return to the 80s) continues at times into the weekend.
