The week ahead: Above-normal temperatures continue before a weekend cooldown (and maybe showers)
The warming trend that began this past weekend continues for much of the upcoming week, but a front will bring along some cooler air — and maybe a few showers — as we head into the weekend.
Sunny skies prevail for at least the first half of the work week, though, as temperatures continue to climb. We start Monday in the upper 40s — probably the coolest start this week — before temperatures head into the mid-to-upper 70s in the afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday will feature low-50s starts with highs climbing into the upper 70s Tuesday and low 80s on Wednesday. Plentiful sunshine continues throughout.
We’ll start to see a few changes Thursday as a little more moisture works its way into the area. This will cause low temperatures to run several degrees warmer — think upper 50s — before temperatures head into the low 80s once again under partly cloudy skies. Moisture return continues Friday as a cold front gets closer, and the aforementioned front could even kick off a shower or two Friday evening. We’ll keep slight shower chances in the forecast each day this weekend as much cooler air wedges into the area. Don’t get your hopes up for much in the way of rainfall accumulation, though — there’s a fair bit of uncertainty with just how much, if any, rain falls. We’ll keep an eye on this as the forecast evolves throughout the week.
Tropics: All is quiet
